Definition of Duplicate Efforts

When two or more teams at a company are working on the same thing separately.

Example: The company's operating committee reviewed the planned work of all the teams within the company to make sure there were no duplicate efforts. The committee wanted to save the company money by not having more than one team work on the same type of project.
