Definition of Chief of Staff

A person with the role where he or she works on important initiatives for the CEO of the comapny. The work is usually special projects that the CEO wants to get done but does not have time to do it themselves. It is often a role taken to accelerate a person's career, which can lead them to executive roles like being a VP or SVP.

Example: The Chief of Staff was responsible for launching the company's new product and sharing the results with the company.
