Definition of Reminder Email

An email to ask somebody to do something that you already have mentioned once before.

Example: The employee's manager had not responded yet to the employee's email request to take PTO next month. The employee sent a reminder email to his manager because he was planning a vacation and needed to make sure the PTO request was approved before booking a flight and hotel.
