Definition of Career Break

A period of time during which a person voluntarily leaves his or her job, and takes a break from their career to pursue non-work activities, such as studying, traveling, or spending time with family.

Example: After working for 10 years in the tech industry, the employee decided to take a one-year career break to travel and reassess his next career move.
